FX-768
Epoxy Modified Rapid Hardening Concrete Pack

DESCRIPTION:

FX-768 Epoxy Modified Rapid Hardening Concrete Pack is an epoxy modified concrete specifically formulated and manufactured to produce structural properties in 2 to 3 hours with ultimate in durability.

ADVANTAGES:

FX-768 Rapid Hardening Concrete for Modifying Concrete will increase durability, freeze-thaw and impact resistance. FX-768 produces high compressive, flexural, tensile and tensile splitting strengths. The thermal coefficient of expansion is the same as normal concrete.

WHERE TO USE:

Replacement of timber or concrete ties, traffic deck overlays, and track pads under rails. Elevated structures, where the rapid hardening prevents cracking due to traffic vibration. Replacement of expansion joints and decks where traffic service in 2 to 3 hours is required.

SURFACE PREPARATION:

Substrate must be clean and sound. Apply FX-752 Bonding Agent to the surface to be repaired at a rate of approximately 100 SF/gallon. While the bonding agent is still tacky, place the epoxy modified mortar or concrete mix. If specified apply a slurry bond coat of Epoxy Modified Mortar to the area to be repaired. Place the epoxy modified mortar or concrete immediately, while the slurry is still wet.

MIXING:

Start mixer and place FX-768 RH "C" Component into mixer and add up to 3/4 gallons of water per bag; add 1 gallon of mixed epoxy resin for each bag of "C" Component; Mix for an additional 3 to 5 minutes. Additional water may be added to produce desired consistency (keep water content as low as possible).

Place coarse aggregate in concrete mixer and start mixing. Add FX-768 RH C Component, add water to produce desired consistency, add mixed epoxy and mix an additional 3 to 5 minutes. Place immediately.

APPLICATION:

Place in conventional manner. Surface finishing may be improved with a vibrating screed. After screeding, allow bleed water to come to the surface, finish with steel trowel. Finishing may be aided by wiping trowel with solvent, preferably FX-Tool and Equipment Cleaner. Surface may be broomed or grooved.

CURING:

Protect concrete during initial set with white polyethylene sheeting. When concrete is sufficiently hard, cure with both wet burlap and polyethylene sheeting. Continue cure for 24 hours.

CLEAN UP:

Flush mixing equipment frequently with water. Tools in contact with neat epoxy must be cleaned with FX-Tool and Equipment Cleaner or other solvent-type cleaner. Tools in contact with concrete and mortar may be washed with water.

LIMITATION:

Store material between 65° F and 85° F during mixing. Do not mix FX-768 with organic solvents.

STORAGE:

Keep in cool, dry place.

SHELF LIFE:

One (1) year.

CAUTION:

"A" Component—Contains Epoxy Resin. May cause skin sensitization or other allergic responses. Avoid inhalation of vapor. Use good ventilation particularly if material is heated or sprayed. Prevent all contact with skin or eyes. If contact with skin occurs, wash immediately with soap and water. In case of contact with eyes, flush immediately with water and contact a physician.

"B" Component—Contains alkaline amines, strong sensitizer. May cause burns. Do not get into eyes, on skin, or clothing. Avoid breathing vapor. Keep container closed. Use with adequate ventilation. Wash thoroughly after handling.

"C" Component—Cement powder or freshly mixed concrete or mortar may cause skin injury. Avoid contact with skin; wash exposed areas promptly with water. If any cement powder or mixture gets into eyes, rinse immediately and repeatedly with water. Get prompt medical attention!

FIRST AID:

In case of contact, immediately flush eyes or skin with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Remove contaminated clothing and shoes. Call a physician. Wash clothing before reuse. Discard contaminated shoes.
